FASHION NOTES. Scotch ginghams will be worn again next summer. ~, , ~ Black straw lace bonnets will take the place of lace bonnets next season. Small figures on dark grounds are the rule of the new spring cotton prints. The day lias gone by when a watch is considered an article of jewellery for a lady. Wonderful productions in the way ot artificial flowers will bo worn on spring bonnet 3. •-•,-, - The new-fangled or many-sided mirrors enable a woman to see her back hair in nve positions. . . . A new linen collar for ladies is worn standing all around ; that is, without points turned over in front. . Willow-pattern cups and saucers printed in colours are being used largely in England for invitation to tea. . Kid gloves, which formerlj could not nt the hand too snugly, must now bo long, loose, and be without buttons, in order to be fashionable. Animal ornaments are all the rage m jewellery. Those moet in favour for bracolets are mice. May bugs, crabs, lobsters, spiders, aud flies. Sometimes they glitter with precious stones. They are attached to bands of plain gold. Bracelets and necklaces are more worn than ever, and earrings have been less worn than they have been for years. Necklaces and bracelets of flowers are worn by young ladies in the evening. , The rage at present is for enamelled jewellery. Everybody will be glad to know that the old and annoying tidies for ornamenting furnituro are superseded by long scarfs of "haireen" work. On a ereainish white ground of clear muslin are embroidered strawberry and orange, green, eilver, and gold threads. Manufacturers are making decided changes in grenadines, says an exchange. About the only new thing left for them to do is to weave live birds in the texture of the stuff and to leave them there like the immortal four-and-twenty who were baked in the pie.
