[BY CABLE.] TURKO-GREEK FRONTIER. London, April 20. I In consequence of the continued difficulty in the way of the settlement of the Turko-Greek frontier question, the Powers have now made a proposal to the Government of the two countries that a convention should be held under their auspices with a view to bring about a complete and final determination of the frontier difficult}'. EARL BEACONSFIELD'S * FUNERAL. London, April 20. The executor of the will of the late Earl Beaconsfield's will has declined the proposal made by the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone that the funeral of .the deceased should be publicly performed. The will of the late Earl directs that the funeral should be performed in the most simple manner, and that his body should be interred in his wife's vault at Hughenden. AMERICAN HARVEST PROSPECTS. New York, April 20. The American harvest prospects are unfavourable, owing to the crops generally having been severely damaged by frost. A SCULLING MATCH. [reuter's telegrams.] London, April 19. A sculling race took place to-day at Southampton, between Edward Trickett and an oarsman named Kirby. The contest resulted in an easy victory for Trickett.
