~ . New Zbal/lnd Herald Office. Wednesday evening. The Customs receipts to-day amounted to £853 8s sd. At Mr. R. Arthur's sale Auckland apples brought 2Jd to pears, IJd to 2Jd ; Hobarfc apples, 2d to 2Jd. Assorted fruits: Medlars, 2Jd ; quinces, 2d to 2Jsd ; lemons, Is srl to Is 9d per dozen. Onions, 3s id ; pumpkint, 3s 3d to 3s Sd ; potatoes, 3s ; fowis, 1 s 7d ; ducks, Is Bd. Mr. A. Buckland held a sale of racehorses at the Greyhound yards, and tho following were sold :—l'awenata, 4 years, £95, Mr. M. Gallagher; Harkaway, aged, £60, Mr. Hollywood ; Omega, chestnut gelding, £20, Mr. O. C. McGee. There was a reserve of £250 on Vortex, of £200 on Miss Domett, and of £40 on Golden Crown. This not being reached in any instance, they were all passed in. At Messrs. B. Tonks and Co.'a sale of guns and revolvers, the whole, consisting of 45 weapons, were disposed of. The Gisborne brewery was sold prirately, but the price has not transpired. At Mr. L. W. Eaton's sale of fruit, tho following prices were realised :—Oranges, sid to 6d per dozen ; pears, 7s Gd per case ; apples, 9s to 10s per case.
