FATAL GUN ACCIDENT.

A fatal gun accident is reported to have occurred in. the Waikato on Saturday. Two railway employes, named respectively Grey and Jolly, went out duck shooting on the river near Rangiriri in a canoe. They had been out some time, and Grey, sighting some game, stood up, fired one barrel, and was about to discharge the second one when a msvement of the canoe caused him to incline forward. This action —probably -the effort made to save himself from falling—caused the remaining barrel to go off. The gun unfortunately pointed straight at the head of his companion, who was killed by the discharge, the back of his head teing completely shattered.
