CRICKET.
WEST END r. NORTH SHORE. The return match between the above clubs was played on Saturday afternoon on the Domain ground. The bowling on both sides was weak, which accounts in some measure for the large scores that were made. Owing to the lateness of the hour play commenced, the match was not completed, but resulted in a draw in favour of the West End. Robinson made his drfwt on the cricket field since his return from the country. Judging from the style displayed, he has lost none of his old form. He contributed 46 runs by good free batting. The cricket displayed by Wynyard certainly entitles him to the favourable notice of the selection committee ; his 3S was got in capital form. King, Coleman, and Lynch deserve mention—the former, by his score, 3S, and excellent wicket-keeping, may be said to have played himself into the 22; the latter as usual was not out, which he has invariably been this season. The West End completes the return match with Otaliuhu next Saturday on the Domain ground. Subjoined are last Saturday's scores :— , NORTH SHORE. WEST END. Itobinson, c Arneil.
