Mr. Hughes scntoutseveral important exploring expeditions ; gave large sums to the University at Adclade and other institutions; endowed professoi-ships, and cultivated vines on his extensive property, which in size would make some of our counties look foolish. In these days, when C.B.'s, li.C.B.'s, and K.C.M.G.'s, arc given rather freely, one is pleased to hear of a really deserving man getting knighted.— Globe. - Doctors now say that boiled cow's milk is not good for babies ; it is better raw. The doctors are right; a raw one gives better milk than a boiled one.
