REV. W. TEBBS AND RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The incumbent of St. Matthew's has declined to answer the plain question put to him in your issue of Wednesday—namely, has lie ever given a single Scripture lesson in his own parish school ? His silence is significant. Must we infer that his professions of zeal for religious teaching in our public scliools are mere sham—sorry attempts to write himself into notoriety ? Are we henceforth to look upon him in matters educational as an ecclesiastical finger-post, pointing out a road which he himself does not travel ?—I am, &c., A Parent.
