THE GOLDFIELDS.
Cure.—The mine manager reports on the ' th-. instant: —The wagesmen have been driving on the No. 7 and Gilmour's leader, and as the prospects in the latter leader are improving, I have decided to keep all hands working on it and discontinue driving on the No. 7 at present, as I am anxious to get on payable stone as soon as possible.— Thos. H. Crawford.
A meeting of shareholders in Major Green's claim, at the Tiki, was held at the office of Mr. D. G. MacDonnell, yesterday afternoon. A large number of shareholders were present,—Mr. Comiskey in the chair. It was unanimously resolved that a registered company be formed under the Mining Companies Act, 1872, with a nominal capital of £12,000, in 12,000 shares of £1 each, nil paid-up; the name of the company to bo the Tiki • Gold-mining Company (limited). Rules for the management of the company were adopted, and the following shareholders elected directors : — Major Oi'een, Messrs. Joseph Howard, P. Comiskey, Samuel Vickers, Arthur Bull, Donald Ross, and Charles Heskoth. Mr. D. G. MacDonnell was appointed manager, and Mr. T. L. White, auditor.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Graiiamstown, Wednesday. Moanataiari.—Reid and party, who are tributing in this mine, have crushed a small parcel of about ten tons of general stuff, for the excellent return of oOozs. 16dwts. of melted gold.
