She is announced to return thither at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The barque Catherine Jane sailed for Whangaroa on Saturday. The p.s. Conierang left for Sydney via Russell, on Saturday evening. The schooner Waiwera sailed for Rarotonga on Saturday morning. The schooner Edith sailed for Tonga yesterday morning. The Union S.S. Co.'a. s.s. Rotomahnna is announced to make a cheap excursion trip to Russell, in connection with the Bay of Islands Regatta. She leaves at <3 p.m. on Monday next, remaining during the Regatta, and returning on Thursday morning. On the 26th ult., as the ketch Fanny Kelly was on her way from Whangaroa to this port with a load of timber, the weather became very thick and dirty, and she ran to Whangaruru for shelter. When going in she became unmanageable, owing to the peculiar set of the current, and tot answering the helm quickly enough she ran KM'er the reef, carrying away her rudder, hut *iid not sustain any serious damage. The Union S.S. Ce.'s s.s. Arawata should -Arrive from Uisborne -early this forenoon. She leaves for Sydney to-morrow. Tho schooner Belle Brsadon is announced to Bail for Samoa on Wednesiay next. The barque Beatrice Haverner is expected to sail for New York about the end of this week with axjarga of kauri gum. The banjuentine building for Captain D. ff. McKenzie will be launched about a fortnight hence. She has been chartered to proceed to New York with a sargo of kauri gam. The Uiiien S,S. Co.'s a,s. Waifcaki arrived from Wbapgarei about 9 o'clock on Saturday night. Sbp is announced to leave for Taaranga 5 o'clock this afternoon.

The A.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Southern Cross does not ' leave for LeVuka till to-morrow. I The s.s. Planet which came into collision with ' the schooner Edith on Regatta Day, having been repaired, resumsd running to Wairoa South on Frixiny last. The barque Loongaoa anchored off tile Queenstreet Wharf at 10 o'clock last night, after an absence of nearly Tcur months. In the interval ahe made a veiy successful trip to Dunedin, making the run there and back in. two days less , than u. month. The Loongaua had rather aprotracted passage this time, having experienced strong easterly winds almost the whole of the trip. She always was one of the-cleaneat and prettiest vessels-trading to the poitt, but even the past has been improved upon. Having been painted and beautified, she is as neat and elegant a craft as tho eye could uesire. Oar old friend Captain Fisher is as hearty as ever. He reports : Left Hobart -on the 20th ult., and cleared the Heads <Tne next day, having a nice westerly breeze, -which lasted till the 25th. In 165* E. and 4C" tho wind sfcifted to E., and thence till Saturday last there was a continuance ofstrong E. and N.E. winds. We are indebted to the purser. Mr. D. O. Robertson, for latest files and the following roport Left Port Chxlmers at 5 p.m. on the 31-st January, and arrived at Akaroa at 7 a.m. on'the Ist February; left again at 10 a.m., and arrived at Lyttelton at 2 p.m. same day ; left again same evening, at 10 p.m. and had strong head winds to arrival at Wellington on the 2nd, at -4 p.m. ; left again on tbe 3rd, at noon, and ariived at Picton at 5 p.m. ; left again at 10 p.m., steamed slowly on to Nelson, which port was reached at 10.30 a.m. on the Ith; left again at 1 p.m., steamed slowly on to' Taranaki, where we arrived at 6.30 a.m. ; left again at 5 p.m., and arrived off Manukau bar at daylight on the 6th, crossed the bar, and made fast to wharf, Onehunga, at 12.45. The Penguin is announced to return South on the arrival of the inward English mail. The Government steamer Hinemoa sailed for New Plymouth, Opunake, and Wellington on Saturday.
