Southern Ckoss.—A crushing of nineteen tons of general stud" for the company has been completed at the Alburnia battery for the good return of 2Sozs. ludwts, of melted gold. Moanataiari.—Whisker and pai-ty, tributers in this mine, have crushed a parcel of general stuff' for the excellent return of ■AOozs. 4dwts. of melted gold. Coromandel, Friday. MAGNIFICENT SPECIMENS. Heeuan's claim are getting out very rich specimens from the new leader. Blackmore, in cutting out a paddock, struck a leader, showing good gold. Tiemau's claim are getting out magnificent specimens, one piece 16 pounds weight is estimated to contain twelve ounces. Some very coarse gold shows. Corby : Mellsopp's tribute lodged o2ozs. from a crushing of a small quantity of stone.

TE AROHA. The following items ai-e from the Te Aroha Miner of Thursday :— The erection of the battery will bo commenced in a few days by Messrs. A. and G. Price. Lucky Hit.—A lease having been applied for, the shareholders have suspended operations till after the battery is erected. They are chiefly Katikati and Tauranga men, and their presence is necessary at home for a few weeks. Morning Star. —Work was resumed in this mine yesterday morning, after a few days' cessation. Gold is still seen iu the stone, and 15 or 20 tons of quartz are paddocked. A new claim was pegged out on Tuesday on the Te Kawakawa Creek, as will be seen from the list of notices of pegging out. The shareholders report having an auriferous leader in hand, and are in high hopes. The native owners of the Goldfield claim report another splendid prospect from the solid reef. They are not desirous of selling, being quite satisfied that their lodo is a payable one. . JVVaikato. —A uice-lookiug three lubfiEs ffncfc;- Aas come" into the reef, and made a few colours of gold on the junction. The country is good sandstone, and every indication favours the idea of a good deposit of gold being not iir distant. The following notices of pegging-out have been lodged :— Te Kirikiki.—Eight men's ground, 60 chains north-east of United claim ; W. J. C. Cogswell. Shotover. —Fifteen men's ground, situated about a mile and a half up the Te Kawakawa Creek ; Henry Thomas Appleyard, E. Griffitlis, A. M. Wainwright, T. Potts, John Browning, B. McCabe, T. W. Gought, Jas. B. Young, G. Barker, and John Raynes.
