To-day there is a little stream of. water coming from the face. In the stopes on No. 1 lode we have " holed " to old stopes. that seem to have been worked not on our lode but on a branch in our hanging wall, and of which we have seen nothing in our drives below. The crashing from No. 1 is shaping about half an-ounce per ton, but the parcel from the drive and leading stope on No. 2 is very poor. Tributes : The tribute crushings are, without exception, poor. Battery : The, crushings will be finished on Wednesday, and details will follow in due course.— J. W. Walkee.

Battery level No. 1 leader : The stopes on this also are well up to brace level, but on this leader thex'e is a considerable height of backs above brace level. The leader averages a foot in thickness, is well mineralised, showing a little gold occasionally, and all good payable crushing dirt. Cross-cut at battery level: During the past week this cross-cut has been driven a distance of 20 feet. The ground has become very hard during the last couple of days. There still remains from 15 to 20 feet to be driven to intersect Herivel's leader, the object of' the cross-cut. The leader averages about eight inches, and in tight country, but good crushing and payable quartz. Rise at 100feet level on No. 1 main reef : This rise has been put up through the centre of a very large block, and is now within 15 feet, of the battery level. The reef has averaged pJbout eight feet in thickness, and during the month; a considerable portion of the quartz crushed has come from here, yielding from Sdwts. to lOdwts. to the, ton.
