This Company is projected for the purpose of purchasing and carrying on the Whangapoua Saw MiU and Timber Business, at present conducted by Messrs C. A. Harris, senior and junior, who haro agreed to Sell to tho Company their Forests, Mills, Machinery, Plant, Tools, Gear, Wharves, Store, Stock, Logs, Houses, Sawn Timber at Mill, Booms, Dams, Railway Tramways, Spare Machinery, and Leases of Allotments in AVest Customhouse-streot, the whole complete (per Stock List, as the same has just being valued by Messrs T. The quantity of Kauri timber in the various wishes at Whaagapoua is estimated by tho vendors at about one hundred and fifty million foet, besides large quantities of other timber that will ultimately become valuable. The different bushes are situated in a circlo round the harbour, as "ill bo seen from the map of tho property, so that all are thoroughly available. Most of the timber is very handy and can be got out atalowrate. A considerable quantity can be trammed out, making the supply independent of freshes; and Whangnpoua is noted for always having a supply of. logs. The railway, now nearly finished, will deliver all the timber on the western slopes into deep water at a small cost. Several contracts are let, all of which will bo finished witliin the next few months; and at tio suggestion of the valuators an arrangement is proposed by which Mr. C. A. Harris, jun., will complete them all and settle with the various contractors as they complete their contracts. Tho store doqj a safo and lucrative business, iis can bo seen from statement of net profits for the last four fS&at. To do a larger business at AVhang&poua the company will only havo to increase the number of men employed, as all plant, machinery and tools necessary are already on tho ground,, and by working the present plant, up to its full capability of production, viz., 100,000 feet per week, the cost will bo lessened and the business made even moro profitable. To obtain tho capital necessary to do this, together with tho anxiety of Mr. Harris, sen., loretire from business, are the principal reasons for the present proprietors parting with the property. The Allotments in West Customhouse-street avo rented from tho Harbour Board at iICOO per annum, and aro well-situated and convenient for the business; and when it is considered that the lease for C 6 years gives tho right t> the water frontage, it is evident that thoy will shortly become very valuable. It is proposed to erect on these allotments efficient but inexpensive sawing, planing, and moulding machinery, which when completed will make the concern thoroughly complete and compact in every respect. ALLOTMENTS, AUCKLAND. Nos. 2S, 29, 30, 31, having a frontage of 201 feet to Customhouse-street, West, by 170 feet deup, with au additional 100 feet into the harbour. Cβ years' leacc, 04 years to run, with right to water
