For some time past (says a Wellington . paper) the local office of the Union Companyhas been frequently visiited by a man giving i the name of Leslie MoCan, who appears to i be labouring under a etrauge hallucination, i He calmly asserts that he is the owner • of the steamer Ringarooma, and that Bhe ! came into hia hand on the death of his ■ uncle, the " original McMeckan," who left i her to him by will. He does not appear to > think it necessary to produce any proofs of s hie inheritance, but jauntily asks for 1 cheques on account of her earnings—some* times for £50, and at other for larger sums. "
