THE ROBINSON FAREWELL RACE MEETING. Melbourne, September 25. The race meeting in honour of Sir Hercules Robineon was held to-day. The racing was exceedingly good. The Marquis of Normanby and Sir William Jervoise were present. There was a moderate attendance of the public. The weather was showery during the day. The Robinson Stakes, a handicap sweepstake of ssovs., 2ft., with 250 added. The second horse to receive 25sovs, and the third lOaovs. out of the stake. For thr*ee-year-olds and upwards. One mile and a half. Mr. M. Loughlin's b g Lord Harry ... 1 Mr. R. H. Vailance's br g Camballo' ... 2 Prattle ... ... ... 3 It was a grand race from start to finish., and was only won by a neck. Sixteen horses started. - Mata was scratched,. Time, 2mina. 50f sees. Farewell Handicap, handicap sweepstakee of 3aovs., lft., with 200 added. The second horse to receive 20aovs. and the third lOsovs. out of the stake. For three-year-olds and upwards. The winner of the Robinson Stakes to carry 71bs. extra. Three quarters of a mile. Mr. R. H. Variance's br g Camballo ... 1 Mr. M-. Loughlin's b g Lord Harry ... 2 Cremorne ... 3 Camballo won easily by several lengths. Twenty-two started. Time, lmin. 20secs. THE MELBOURNE EXHIBITION. Melbourke, September 25. It is stated that Mr. Bell, ActingGovernor of Queensland, will be unable to attend the opening of the Exhibition. ADELAIDE MARKETS. Adelaide, September 25. Wheat is decidedly firmer at 4s 3d. Town flour is quoted at £9.15s ; country brands at £9 to ,£9 2s 6d. Freights to London : sailing vessels, 403. Freights to the United Kingdom faom Adelaide, 40a; from out ports, 423 6d. Freights for wool per steamer: greasy, ljd ; scoured, l£d. Per sailing vessel: greasy, id.; scoured, fd. The ruling rates of freight generally are firmly maintained.
