New Zbaland Herald Office. Thursday evening. The duties collected to day amounted to £562 lls 6d. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. HE. ALFRED BUOKLAND'S WEEKLY EEPORT. On Friday list, at the Haymarket, fodder was in short supply, and at low value; oats, 2s 3d ; feeding barley, 2s to 2s Id; maize, 3s 6d the bushel ; Canterbury potatoes, slightly damaged, £2 log to £217s 6d the tori. There was a large number of well-bred horse stock, the entires wera passed in, but afterwards sold privately; light draught horses, from Wanganui, brought from £18 to £26; heavy, £35 to £40. At the hide and skin sale, on Thursday, hides were a trifle lower in price ; eheepakina, in large numbers, at from 2s to 5s Id; tallow, 20s Cd the cwt.

At Remuera, on Thursday, both dairy cows and store cattle were dull of sale. Fat cattle in usual number—l 43 yarded—all of choice quality. Pricee were slightly higher than last week, and ranged from 28a to 32s per lOOlbs. Fat calves in limited number and brisk inquiry. Fat lambs in moderate supply, and ranged from 8s 6d to 15s each. Fat sheep in full numbers ; 900 yarded. Prices were lower, and barely reached 3d per lb. in their wool. A full supply of pigs met with a brisk sale. MESSRS. HDNTER AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY BEPOHT. Horses. —The market has not been so etirring as on the previous week, but a fair business has been doing. At the Durham Yards, on Fiiday, about an average number wae entered, and nearly all disposed of; but for several animals biddiug was slack, and there was no noteworthy alteration in values. Cattle.—Tbe market has continued brisk, and a good many have changed hands, with little alteration in value. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, there was a large muster of dairy and store stock, but there was scarcely an adequate supply of fat beasts. The dairy cows yarded wero not of very good description, and consequently no high prices were obtained*. Stores, although plentiful, were in brisk demand, and prices ruled in favour of the vendor. Fat beasts were short of requirements. Top sorts obtained last week's value, but inferior were quitted at 28s per lOOlbs. We quoto dairy cows, £7 10a to £9 10a; store cows, £4 to £5 12s 6'd ; yearling steers, £2 15a to £3 7s Cd ; two-year-old stoers, £4 10s to £5 10s; threp and four-year-old steers, £5 12s Gd to £7 los; two and three-year-old heifers, £3 17s 0d to £5. Sheep.—There has been a moderate supply, but prices have receded about 2s per. head. Lambs were very plentiful, and sold at low values, 10s 6d being the highest price given. Pij,s.—Very few yarded. A steady demand exists.
