Outward Coastwise. —Ellen, cutter, for Mamia; Lee, cutter, for'Waiheke. Mr. Adam Cairns, an old resident of this city, returns by the s.s. Te Anau, after three years' absence. Mr. Cairns came from England to Sydney in the Orient Co.'a s.s. Pctosi. The Sydney Daily Tdcqruph of the oth .inat. says : —" A complimentary dinner was given by Mensrs. Cairns and Nowton, two of the passengers by tho Orient steamer Potosi, to the captain and officers at Compagnoni'a cafe last evening. All the officers were present. Captain Carey, of the Union Company's steamer Te Anau, ana Mr. Doherty, recently purser of tho s.s. Rotomahana, were visitors. After the usual formal toasU had been disposed of the health of Messrs. Cairns and Newton was drunk with cheera, and that of the captain and officers of the Potosi was similarly honoured, to ■which the chief officer, Mr. "Wylie, responded. Altogether a very pleasant evening was spent." The barque Glimpse sailed from Newcastle for Auckland on the 31st July, with 434 tons coal, 899 felloes, 870 spekes, and 7 pairs shafts. The schooner Coral Queen reaohed Levuka on the 12th July. The ».s. Glenolg steamed for Tauranga at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The Union S.S. Co.'s ».s. Waitaki returned from Taurangj yesterday morning, and left again for Ruisell at 5 p.m. The Union S.S. Co.'a e.i. Tβ Anau arrived from Kusiell shortly befere noon yesterday. She steams for Gisborne, South, and Melbourne at 12 o'clock to-day. Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlfme notify thai an average bond upon the cargo of the brigantino Lina, lies at their office for signature by consignees. The «.s. Bangatira is announced to leave Onehunga for Seutbern ports to-day at 1 o'clock.
