CLOSING UNMADE ROADS.
[by telegraph, own correspondent.] Hamilton, Wednesday. A meeiing of the ratepayers in the Kirikiriroa Highway District wag held to day, at Dawson's Royal Hotel, Hamilton, pursuant to an advertisement to close certain unmade roads on the map of the district. —Captain Steele said the Waikato Land Company were laying out a complete system of roads through their property, which would be more to the benefit of the district than the roads in question.—Mr. Dilworth appeared as trustee for a native educational reserve, and objected to the road being stopped.—The meeting was entirely against him, and objected to his taking part in the meeting on the ground that neither he nor the land he represented paid rates. —Ultimately a resolution, closing the roads as advertised, with slight amendments, was proposed by Mr. William Cumming, seconded by Mr. Albert Potter, and carried ; Mr. Dilworth being the only dissentient.
