The prospectus of the New Golden Crown Gold Mining Company appears in our advertisement columns. The proposed capital is £8000 in shares of £1 each. Of this number 5000 are offered to the public. Mr. George Townson, of Timaru, has made application for letters patent for a new method of manufacturing cement concrote. Notice is given by advertisement that the owners of property of any kind in the Auckland district, either personal or real, are required to give an estimate of the value of the same to the Deputy-Commissioner on or before the 30th June. It will be within the recollection of many that when the Albion Hotel was burnt down, a likeness of the late Dr. Nesbitt wis also unfortunately destroyed. Dr. Nesbitt's friends— and they are many—will be pleased to leara that the club has succeeded in obtaining another picture of their late friend, which may now be seen in the club-room. The parcrait reflects great credit on the artijtic skill of Ur. E. Arnold, of Hardinge-atreet, Auckland, to whom, the work was entrusted, and who htuj succeeded ia producing a picture if possible more trathfol than the former one. The old members of the olub, and those who were intimately acquainted with the Doctor, will, on viewing this picture, recall to mind many happy reminisoenM, and almost fincy the original i« still among them.—Poverty Bay Herald.
