PLEURO-PNEUMONIA.
The existence of this plague i 3 still the subject of great agitation amongst the farmers, aud we observe that District Highway Boards which have hitherto allowed cattle to graze along the public rojd3 are now adopting measures to prevent this, in order to obviate the chance of disseminating the infection. The East Tamaki Highway Hoard has already lFSued a proclamation prohibiting this privilege, and the Mount Wellington Board is about to follow suit. There is no question as to the advisability of this step, and the object of the Boards must commend itself to all eat le-owners. Mr. F. C. L°wis, the inspector, has recently had a busy time of it. In company with Mr. Nadeo, veterinary surgeou, he has been visiting various districts and localities daring the week. On Thursday, in consequence of a report reaching them, they visited and inspected Mr. James Will's herd, in the Panmure di=trict, but we are glad to learn that there was no manifestation of the existence of pleuro. A meeting of the Cattle Board was held yesterday, at which it was agreed to enlarge the boundaries of the infected district already proclaimed.
