Mr. J. B. Hay has found on his place, Hunua, some excellent specimens of coal, and is about to make explorations to test the extent and value of the seam. The coal baa been found at about a mile from the Hunua station, and, if the seam is workable, coal will be much cheapened in Auckland. An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders in tho Coromandel Steamboat Company is advertised to be held on the 11th inst, at half-past two o'clock, for the purpose of transacting the business set forth in our advertisement columns.
Tho anniversary sermons of the Ofcaliuhu "Wcsleyan Sunday-school will be pre;ichi!il on Sunday next by tho Kov. G. Bond, morning and evening, at the usual hours; and in the afternoon, at 3 o'clock, an address will be given to scholars, parents, and friends. Sankey's hymns will be used on tho occasion.
As will be seen by referenco to our advertisement columns, tho City Council invite tenders for the various municipal services .for the ensuing twelve months.
