It was the opening day of the Dunedin Jockey Club Spring Kace Meeting, which was postponed from Saturday. It has been very successful. The weather fine, and the course in tolerable good order. Tbore was a good attendance. Free Handicap. Butler's Numa. 1 Keith's Soukar 2 Clw.fo'e Oberon 3 Hill's Unknown 0 T.igffirt's Grace Darling 0 IBetting was 5 to 4 on Soukar ; 2 to 1 against N'uma ; 3 to 1 against Unknown and Oberon ; 5 to 1 against Grace Darling. Numa won by a length. Time, lmin. 53Jsecs. Lambs' Pursk. Goodman's Chancellor 1 Hill's Unknown 2 Bvereley, Grace Darling and Hornby were scratched. Thi betting was aDy odds on Chancellor. Chancellor won with tho greatest ease. Time, 2min. 32Jsecs. St. Andrew's Handicap, lOOsova. 2 miles. Mr. Kay's Titania, 6yrs., Bst. lib 1 York 2 Mason and Viillance's Lara 3 Chaafe's Atlanta 0 Camballo, Hornby, Soukar, and Rangatira were scratched. The betting was 3tol on Titania, 2 to 1 ; against York and Lara, 3 to 10. Atlanta won by a length. Lara was twolengthe behind the second borse. Hastie, the rider of Atlanta lost his seat and fell during the race. Time : 3mina., 58secs. Handicap Trotting Race. Vesoy's Zulu 1 Kirkwood's Titokowaru ... 2 Sutherland's Charley 3 Zulu won easily by 20 yards. Time : 9minß., 20secs. Spring Handicap. Mason and Vsdlance's Camballo 1 John's Dolly Varden ... 2 Goodman's York 3 Betting was 2 to 1 on Camballo who won by short head. Time: 2mins., llsecs. Benevolent Scurry, post entry, was won Bird's Bella Cornet.
