A FREAK OF LIGHTNING.
During the violent storm which recently swept over tho east of T?rnnce, a man named Dannois was running for shelter toward tlia farm-house of Huertveut, whilst carrying a long American pitchfork over his shoulder, when he experienced a strong shock and was thrown to the ground, the fork being forcibly wrenched from his gra/.'p. The implement was picked up at a distance of fifty meters from tho spot where t'ao mac feu. The two prong 3 had beon brought oio.se together and were twisted to corkscrew fashion as regularly as though the operation had been effected by machinery. The stail was burned and fell away insoales.-hs.viny a slight sulphurous odour. The points of the fork had been drawn out and lengthened by several centimeters,
