Mbs. Captain Bates, the tallest woman in the world, has recently given birth to a baby which is described as probably the largest human birth, on record. It weighed 23j lbs., was 30 inches in height, breast measure 21 inches, head 19 inches, and the foot 5J inches long. The mother is known as the Nova Scotia giantess, and stands 7 feet 9 inches in height, her husband, Captain Bates, a" Kentuekian, being two inches shorter. This gigantic conple visited Xiondon some eix years ago, and, after giving a aeries of public receptions, were married at St. Martin's Church, Charing Cross—an incident which attractedjeome attention at the tame.-
