Lang and Co. say:—"The plants grow vigorously, and produce immense quantities of strong ' horrid ' spines, and when the hedge is well and fully grown— : that is, isabout two years—neither cats, nor hens, nor sheep, nor bullocks, would think of attempting to penetrate tha barrier." The Box Thorn bears transplanting very satisfactorily. Plants, per 1000, 80s to Sss. Hawthorn, Osage Orange, Hakea, Common Barberry, &c., in qnaatity.
