The fourteenth annual public meeting of t!i > Auek'and Sunday-sct.oid Union was liekl on March 11, at the meeting-rocm of Young Men's Christiau Association rooms, — Mr. J. C. Jut'lli, president of the Union, presiding, and on the platfirm wern the l\evs. 'I'. Jnhusnn, of Sydney ; J. S. ltill, of St. iMattiifw'n Church; and X. W. Dunn, of St. David's church. Tho iSevs. J. Kobtrtion, ji.A., Congregational Church ; aud A. U'. U'chb, Baptist Cliuroli, wore amount tlic audience. 1 ho hall was liiled, and thei-d was a good, choir ill attendance. The proceedings were opened by tho l\er. Mr. Kobeit*ou engaging in prayer, after winch the Olith hymn (S-inkey'.x collection), " Work, for the night is coming," was &ung. The Rev. Mr. Hill spoke on the Rubject of •' How to Increase and Extend the Divioe Bleasina." TKe Her. Mr. JDunn spok« ou " The Xecessity of Study." The Kev. I\lr. Johnson spoke 011 "The Teacher aod his Work." Each imparting wholesome and appropriate advice and directions to the teachers of Sunday-schools.
A collection was thtn taken up. It amounted to £9 0s Si, but a gentlemen in tbe meeting ma e the sum up to £10. and it was devoted to the Jvaitaugata liehef Fund. The Chairman, on behalf of tbe meetiog, thanked tbe choir, and the proceedings Trere brought to a close by the doxology and th-.j benediction, the latter beiug pronouueed by the P.cv. A. W. Webb.
