'Manawatu* has just had her machinery thoroughly ovei hauled and her bottom painted, and is in excellent order. •A tender has been accepted by E. W. Mills for new cylinders for s.s. ' Stormbird,' which is expected to be completed before the day of sale. The s.s. 'Jane Douglas' is only about three years old, with compound engines, is a very handy vessel, and very economical in coaL The hulk * European * is built of hardwood, and will hold about 1200 tons of coal.
