The Advertiser says :—" On Saturday afternoon Mesurs. Smarden and Law launched from their yards, near the Shortland wharf, rv very fine round bottomed barge, to the order of Mr. Thomas Spencer, and intended for the Upper Thames trade. She is composite built, 36 feet in length, and 11 feet wide, and will carry about 20 tons of stuff. Her lines are excellent, and her construction is rery creditable to the builders.
