THE NATIVE MINISTER AT THE THAMES.
[per " herald" special wire.] Thames, Wednesday. The Hon. .Native Minister has been in Graharn3town to-day, receiving anumberof deputations. First, from the Mayor and Councillors of the Borough, at 9 a m., on the subject of Borough endowments and other kindrel subjects. lie then went to Parawai, where a large number of natives were assembled to meet him at Taipari'a carved hous-*. Taipari and other chiefs spoke at length respecting the railway going through their land*, not objecting, but stipulating that their burial-plac-s should be respected ; and at 1 p.m. the ineetiug was adjourned till too evening, to allow the Native Minister to meet the County Council and other deputations. After luuch, Mr. Sheeha-i returned to the Government Building, where he is at present engaged w-th deputations from the County Council, Volunteers, and others. After the conclusion of the native meeting, Mr. Sheehaa will return to Auckland toby the steamer Kotomahaua, which is expected to leave at 11.30.
