Slia sails in the afternoon for Russell, returning tomorrow eight, and makes the annual excursion to Kawau on Boxing Day. The barque J. L. Griffiths sailed on Saturday morning for Wh.iugaroA, there to load with baulk timber for Melbourne. "The Iris, cutter, on Saturday morning was coming up from Mangawai, and on rounding tii«3 goods wharf cut it somewhat too fine. 'Xhero was scarcely a breath of wiud at tho time, ar.d the.stem of the cutter was steered towards thu firewood jetty, when the strong ebb-tide caught her and sent her with a crash against the Railway Wharf, the mast snapping in two like a piece of matchwood. : The Union Co.'s s.s. The schooners Amaranth and Atalanta- sailed yesterday morning, from the Manukau, with cargoe3 of timber for Waitara. The s.s, Ajgyle came out of dock on Saturday, . after undergoing a thorough overhaul. She .will leave for Coromandel at 9 a.m. to-morrow, and proceed on an excursion to the Hot Springs on Boxing Day,- and take up her usual running to "Whangarei on Friday morning, returning on Saturday. The Union Co/s s.s. "Wellington will arrive at Onebunga early this morning, from New : Plymouth, Nelson, and Wellington. She is advertised to return South at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The ship Loch Fleet haviug discharged her inward cargo, hauled into the stream on Saturday, and will remain there until the barque Lebuis ready to take her departure for London. The barque Clan Fergusson, which arrived from London on. Wednesday, was berthed au the outer western T on Saturday.

The Union Company's s.s. Rotorua, from Sydney, will probably arrive in the harbour at an early hour to-morrow morning. The schooner Mazeppa, from the Island of Rarotonga, may be expected in harbour any , day.

The p.s. Geelong sailed fromHokianga yesterday afternoon for Onehunga, and will no doubt have arrived before this is perused by our readers.

All claims against the ketch Reliance, since August 15th, must be rendered to Mr. C. A. Harris by noon to-morrow.

At sunset yesterday a brig andbrigantine were signalled off Tiritiri. The former will probably turn out to bs tbe Moa, with breadstuffs from the South, and the latter the Look-out from Sydney, or the Active from the Islands. The barque Caberfeidh, Captain John MoKenzie, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon from Oamaru, with a large cargo of breadstuffs and grain. The barque has made a long passage, having experienced head winds and calms aince her departure. She left Oamaru at 7 p.m. of the 4tb, with light northerly winds until off Banks' Peninsula on the Bth. Light N.W. breezes then prevailed to the Kidnappers and Portland Island, rounding the East Cape on the 14tli. Across the Bay of Plenty up to arrival had westerly airs and «Jms. Bounded Cape Colville on Saturday at noon, and reached the harbour at 3 p.m. yesterday. The amended time-table of the s.s. Botomahana will be found in our advertising columns, and it will be seen that she only proceeds to the Thames once to-day at 11.30, and not again at midnight, as previously announced. The brigantiue 3leg Merrilies will sail for Levuka and the Islands to-day. The ship Famenoth, having received the whole of her cargo, will move off from the wharf today, and sail to-mono w for London. A steamer will leave the Queen-street Wharf at 10 a.m. to-morrow, carrying passengers and luggage to the vessel. The agents request passengers to pay the balance of their fares, in order to insure berths. The p.s. Tongariro is announeedvto leave for Coromandel at noon to-day, returning tomorrow. On Christmas Day she will leave the wharf at 2 p.m., for an excursion round Banjitoto, and on Boxing Day, at 10 a.m., will proceed to Kawau. The ship May Queen will be the next vessel to load for London under the flag of Messrs. Shaw, Saville and Co. She will take the berth that the ship Famenoth vacates te-day. fliep.s. Enterprise No. 2 will mako a cruise ' about the harbour on Boxing Day, calling at Motuihi (tbe Quarantine Station). She will leave the Ferry Corapany'3 Wharf at 12.30 p.m., returning at 5 p.m., thus affording families an opportunity of spending a few hours on the ■water, without interfering with the social gatherings at the table on these holiday occasions. . HOKIANGA. Loading: Barque Oceania, brisantinti Hannah Broomfield, and schooner Queen. The Oceania is nearly full, and will clear to-morrow for Slelboure.
