ONEHUNGA.R.M. COURT.— Wednesday.
[Before R. C. Ilaratow, Esq., R.M.I Pound Breach.—John Bolan wm charged with resorting a horse, which waß being driven to the pound. Martiu May deposed : I seized fire horses trespassing in my enclosed paddock. I brought them down to the Onehunga Found, and was just getting them into the enclosure, when defendant jumped between the gate and the horses, and frightened them all away. Mrs. May deposed that defendant rushed out in his shirt-sleeres, a hoop, and vowing he would prevent anyone impounding his horses. Captain Parnell deposed: X saw the horses in possession of complainant, and saw defendant rescue them in the manner described. Defendant said the horses were on the green, and not being driven at tho time ; he only wanted to save a foal from being kicked. His Worship inflicted a. fine of 20s, costs 15s 6d, or 14 days' hard labour. Civil Case. D. Niblsok v. J. Austen.—Claim £20 9s 3d, for butcher's meat. Mr. Brock appeared for defendant, who pleaded the Statute of Limitations with respect to £13 Is 5d ; the balance, £2 7s lOd, was paid into Court. The plaintiff said the £18 had been incurred by supplying his family with meat during a long absence of tho defendant. Judgment for plaintiff for the sum paid int> Court, with solicitor's costs against plaintiff, 21s.
