TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—At the meeting of ratepayers, held on Ist inst., I .stated that I hud reason to believe that fully AI3OO had been expended since the Ist July, of which not one shilling had been entered in the Board's cash-books, in defiance of the Highways Act. Since then the Board has caused their expenditure to be entered ; aud any ratepayer taking the trouble to examine the book, as entitled by law, will find that, instead of £'300, more than £000 had been paid away between the dates I mentioned,—July 1 to November I.—l am, &c., F. CIIKKIIY. November 19, 1878.
