DEPARTURE OF SIR GEORGE GREY FROM NAPIER.
Con.sidf.uaiile change has been made in the programme of the Premier's visit to the North. It was thought that he would visit Gisborne aud Tauranga, but that intention has been abandoned. The latest telegrams sent by the authority of Sir George Grey to the Reception Committee state that the lliucmoa left Napier on Saturday night at ten o'clock for the Kawau direct, and therefore Sir George will prcbably reach that island this afternoon, glad, no doubt, to be once more at home. Sir George will be quite p: - epared to come to Auckland on Wednesday afternoon, if that will suit the people of Auckland, and therefore, it is likely that tho committee will fix the reception fur that day. That matter, however, will be settled at a meeting this afternoon.
