The schooner Lochiel and the brig Crafg Ellachie, from hence, arrived at Newcastle on the 24th ult., and the barque Melrose two days previous. Oa the evening of the 3rd July Her Mγ.jesty's ship Wolverine passed close round the north and west sides of the Astrolabe reef and north rocks of Kandaru, and saw do signe of any vessel on shore. It was therefore concluded that the brig Maggie, of Sydney (reported on shore there, and expectin" to get ofE in two or three tides) had got off. Our Wangarei correspondent telegraphs that the cutter Isabel went ashore on Friday night inside Busby Heads, Wangarei, and that there isere.y probability she will be got afloat again. From this we infer that she is not seriously dimsged. The cutter i« about 12 tons register and the property of Mr. Thomas Wrigley, of Tauranga. She is valued at £250—her owner having a riak of £100 in the South British Insuraace Company. The P.M.s.B. Zealandia, Captain Chevalier arrived from Sydney at half-past 10 a.m yesterday morning en route to Honolulu and San Franubco, with H.M. mails. She brought several days' later Australian intelligence than that receiTed via the South. We are indebted to Mr. K. McDonald, the purser, for files and other favours. ENGLISH SHIPPING. The tonnage loading on the berth at London, June 7th, for India, China, and the Cape of Good Hope, amounted to 47.412 tons, and for Australia and New Zealand to 78,183 tons. There was no favourable change to report in outward and homeward hound freights, at London on June Bth. From London to the East, the Australian and New Zealand colonics there is but little inquiry for tonnage. For the Cape the demand is morn actire. Coal freights to India, Java, and China, are somewhat weaker. Tenders are wanted for June 4th for one steamer from Newport for Kurrnchee for Government stores. In homeward tramactions from Bombay and Calcutta there is very little doing both for steamers and sailing vessels. From the rice ports for next season, 62s 6d is the utmost obtainable.

The number of wrecks reported for the present year, to date of May 19th, amounted to 830. The ship Jessie Osborne, Captain Falconer, from Auckland, arrived at Basscin on May 14th. The ship Oxford from hence arrived at Madras on May :Slst. The barque Glenlora, from hence for London, was spoken on March 17th, in 56" S. (!) 70. W.
