NEW WESLEYAN CHAPEL AT TUAKAU.

A neat and commodious Wesleyan Chapel, contiguous to the railway station, on a site given for the purpose by Mr. T. Holmes, Having been completed, the opening services were held on Sunday last, -when the Rev. Sir. Kirk preached in the morning and evening to a good congregation. The seats and pulpit had been presented by Mr. I\. Hobbs, of l'okeno. On Monday a tea meeting was held, which was largely attended by settlers ;uul their families from the districts round about. There was an excellent spread of the usual good things. After the edibles ii;ul been disposed of, Sir. Kirk commenced tile •iroceedings by giving out the 100 th Psalm, a iter which the Rev. Sir. Williams off.'rod prayer. Mr. Hobbs was then callcd upon to take the chair, and opened the meeting by some felicitous remarks. "Armour Bearer was then sung. Williams gave a good speech on the subject of a ''Model Church/' in which he introduced the building, office-bearers, hearerß, and ministers. After some remarks from Mr. Roose, Mr. jtarbick touched upon sever.-).' matters that had cropped up during the evening, and con eluded by proposing a vote of thanks to the ladies, which, seconded by Mr. Allen, v. as carried with cheers.
