THE LATE DROWNING CASE.
The body of the man who was drowned on Friday niglit- by falling from Queen-street Wharf, has been identified as that of Thomas Dahn, a bup.lunan, formerly belonging to the sSfch Regiment of the Line. The deceased had worked in various parts of the country, but had recently' come iuto town from the MTaikato, and was staying at Mrs. Vare's boarding house, almost opposite to where the poor fellow mot with his death. When the body was found and brought into the Police Station, there wns no appearance of the deceased beiug under the influence of liquor, but it is known that in the early part of the, day he was seen drinking, but riot then intoxicated. The inquest will be held at the Freeman's Hotel this afternoon.
