CRICKET.
PAPAKURA V. PAPATOITOI. The match, was played on Saturday afternoon, the 11th inst., and resulted in an easy victory for Papakura by one innings and seven runs. Wynyard, for Papakura, played a' careful innings of 24, not out, carrying his bat through the inniDgs. Gray, for Papatoitoi, was the only one with double figures. The bowling of Papakura was very good, more especially that of M ister E. McLennan, who is a lad of 14 years, and he would puzzle many a good player to play his break balls. McLennan 5 Extras .. i Total 25 Total 27 The Auckland and Carlton' cricket-match is postponed tell next Saturday, and, should the weather prove more propitious than last Saturday, a really well-contested game should be the result. From the names it will be seen either side represent good cricket, and with a good wicket it would be difficult to predict the winner. The A. C. O. will be represented by Messrs. Blackett, Blunden, Buekland, Cotton, K. Abraham, W. Philson, W. Tonks, Mowbray, C. Abraham, Browning, Lankham, and Ward. Carlton : Messrs. Kent, Lawry, Dufaur (3), "Xules, Lynch, Mears, Choyce, Dickenson, and .Nolan. A cricket match, United v. was played at Hamilton East on Thursday last. Kirikiriroa, Ist innings, 34 ; 2nd innings, 41 : total, 75. United, lßt innings, 84. The game was watched with much interest by a large number of the friends of either side, and the holiday-seeking public generally.
