DISTINCT DIFFERENCES.
To the Editor of the Herald. Sir, —There are, you know, three or four different religions in our world. Two of them, and the chief, are Christianity and Mahometanism. Each of these is variously exhibited ;—of them there are sections of different exhibitors; and each, almost of course, professes to faithfully and fully represent, to outsiders and " to all whom it may concern," the veritable the unmistakeable Christian religion. And, —and—(now to present point),—there is sometimes, here in Auckland, an annoying mistake regarding the proper distinctive appellatives ;—annoying inasmuch as an Episcopalian rationally objects to be published forth to the world as x Presbyterian (after, perhaps, spending money for publishing himself as something Other) ; and a Congregational Independent will not be written down a \Vesleyan Methodist. This latter strange mistake was committed here some 7 years ago regarding a highly superior man deputed from England to visit the colonial churches —And, again, 1-st Friday, September 15,1576, the Herald, . of Auckland township, stated, in a prominent local paragraph, that an agent of " The ] London Missionary Society" was of the J Church of England (technically he was not), whereas that great toeiety, with its hundred and sixteen thousand pounds a-year, regular, volunteered revenue (besides the colonial, and other), belongs to the Congregational Independents ; and that same agent, at the Islands here, who wrote to the New Zea- : LA>"D Herald newspaper, per Friday last, is well known.—l am, &c., : W. E. Sadler.
