ST. SEPULCHRE'S CHURCH: MISSIONARY MEETING.

The annual missionary meeting in connection with this parish "was held in the Church last evening,—His Lordship Bishop Cowie presiding. After a hymn had been sung, and a prayer offered up by the Rev. Mr. Dudley, His Lordship delivered a short • address in regard to the progress of mission ■work. At the conclusion of the Bishop's re- ' marks, the "winners of his special prizes "were declared to be Boys: Wilfrid Percival, St. Sepulchre's ; Henry Biggs. Girls : Eva Dickson and Kose Gilbert. The annual prizes "won by the pupils of St. Sepulchre's and Epiphany Sunday-schools, to the number of 04 volumes, -were then distributed among the happy recipients, much to their gratification and delight. After another hymn had been sung, Mr. Biggs addressed the meeting. During the course of -his • speech, ho mentioned that the scholars had contributed, last year, £20 9s Id to the missions. A nativo of the Loyalty Islands, named "Wadrako, then made a few remarks in his otvh language, which were interpreted to hi 3 hearers by the Rev. B. T v Dudley. Tho character of the late Bishop' Patteson ■was referred to in a very feeling manner. The choir then sang a hymn, after "which Bishop Cowie gave a very interesting account of his trip'to the districts north of Auckland, the principal object of which was - the unveiling of the monument to Arclidea- • con Williams, lately erected at Pahia. Arch- • deacon Brett then addressed himself to the chUdren, and succeeded in gaining their whole attention by his earnest manner. Two , more hymns were snng, and a collection made. The Benediction was shortly after* ] wards pronounced, and the assemblage clis- . persed. "
