PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE.
No previous production of an original play like that of * * TIIO Shaughraun" was ever worked up to sucli entire completeness Last night, the new drama -was presents "with even "more than the success of the prfrl vious performances. The actors were hetts perfect in their parts ; there "was no need d a prompter, consequently there was not I moment wasted, and the stage business ml almost perfect in detail. The tableaux Tilth which the several acts conclude were veij effective. Mr. Wheatloigh's Conn. tin. Shaugliraun is unquestionably, one of the most impressive and complete pertraits of Irißli life and humour fiat ever occupied the stage. The pretty, double love story, which forms the main in* ; gredient of the plot, is of itself very interest ; ing and really very charming in the ladis who are parties to it, as well as the gentlemen who are the "objects" of it. Nothing could be more telling than the courtship a Claire Ffolliott and Captain Mollineox (Mi& Carry George and Mr. Lawrence), or the positive form of the same interesting relatic®, disclosedby Conn, the Shaughraun, andMori Doolan (Mr. WheatleighandMiss JennieNyfi)". The Kinchela of Mr. Burton, and the Harvey Duff of Mr. Collier were both striking P?" formances. Mr. Searle's parish priest, Mrs. S carle's Widow O'Kelly are distinctly J; and thoroughly characteristic. The : j thing is so goed that it deserves to hold tit stage for some time to come. There was * j personal interest amongst the audienoe 1*»; i evening elicited by the presence of W j Chevalier Blondin and family. They were,. of course, the observed of all observers,' J!?;'; the notice was not obtrusive, and considers?.; the celebrity of the stranger, was perfeW; \ natural. i
