UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCHES.

The second Annual District Meeting of the United Methodist Free Churches commenced its sittings to-day, January IS, in the Schoolroom, Pitt-street. There -were representatives present from Christchurch, Oxford and Malvern, Reefton, Waipawa, and Auckland. The Rev. Samuel llacfarlane was re-elected chairman of the district, and the Rev. Joseph White was re-elected district secretary. The reports from the various circuits in the district were of the most encouraging character, shewing an increase of about 150 in the number of members in the district, and also manifesting advancement in the extension and consolidation of the work. The meeting will continue its sittings for several days, and a resume of its proceedings shall be furnished.
