THE RIVERHEAD AND KAIPARA RAILWAY.
.. , . To the Editor of the Hekald. Sir,—l must appeal to you, as the trne . friend of the country settlers, to make known I the fact that the public are left in utter ignorance of tho arrival and departure of trains on the Riverhead and Kaipara Railway. Why docs not Mr. E. B. Passmore, the superintending engineer of constructed railways, insert the time-tables in tho newspapers as well as those of tho Aueklaud and Mercer line? It appears to me that it is not intended that the Kaipara railway shall pay 'working expenses, probably that the Government may get out of making the extension to Auckland.' The steamer on the Kaipara waters is not advertised as formerly; does she ; get overladen and not require more ' trade, or cannot she keep time; oris she taken off, or what can be amiss ? Please 1 give your aid and oblige • A Katpaka Plat. January-IS; IS7C. ;
