The mail steamer Colima is unavoidably detained until 1 o'clock to-dav, in consequence of the repairs to her machinery not having been completed. She Trill, however, leave punctually at that time. The A.S P. Co. have, agreeable to| the wishes of East Coast traveller*, determined to issue return tickets from present date until l;th January ensuing, availab'e until ISth February. The schooner Kate Macgreger returned early yesterday morning from Carder's pottery works, with a cargo of drain &c.. for Dunedin. She will leave for her destination to-day. The schooner Latitia has been laid ou the berth for Norfolk Island and New Caledonia, and wilJ inee* with quick dispatch. She is loading at Gore-strcn jetty. The ship Star of Germany has row discharged Ilia Auckland portion of her cargo, and will haul away from the wharf to-day. she leaves for Newcastle in a few days. The agents announce that all claims against the ship mus r - be sent in to them before noon ©u Monday next. We understand that a telegram was received in town yesterday stating that the mail steamer Cyphrones had broken down, and was now on her way to Auckland under cmvas. If this is the case a delay will be caused in despatching the outgoing mail. It is to be hoped th*t the disarrangement of the machinery may be speedily remedied. The new paddle steamer built by Messrs R. Niocol and Son, at the North Shore, has been launched, and her machinery fitted. An engineer's trial will take plao to-diy. The steamer is built on the saloon principle similar to the Takapuna, with improveMeats, and a greater amount of speed is expected from her. She will be placed in the ferry service as soon as ready. Pretty Jane left at 7.30 p.m. yesterday, with the following passengers :—Mis and -Mi<s Kempthorne and two children, Messrs lioylan, Chatfield, Sutherland, Gllman, Turnbull, Captain Wells, and others. She takes also a full cargo of bheep and cattle. WELLINGTON. December 17.—Sailed, at 2 p.m., Phoebe, for the ITorth. Passengers: — Messrs R°ardon, Frosaer, Seodam, Small, Jackson, and Mcintosh.
