WOOL SALES.

The second sales of the season took place on the 24th November. The attendance was vety fair, and the prices about the same as those obtained at last sales. ; Mr A. Buckla2*p's Sale.—This sale was held at 1 o'clock. 225J bales were offered. Prices ranged from 8d to per lb. for longwool grease, and from 13d to 14|d for washed. The third wool sales of the season were held oil December 8, in the presence of a better attendance of buyers than was the case at the previous sales. The bidding was spirited, and newly all the lots offered were knocked down at good prices. Mr Macfarlane was by far the most extensive buyer, and hi 3 presence made the auction far more successful than it otherwise would have been.

Mr Alfred Auckland's Wool Sale.—4S7 bales were catalogued, the whole of which, with the exception of a few bales which were reserved at rather high prices, were disposed of at a fair competition. The quality was a liltle better than the wool offered at last tales, and the prices were about the same—any difference being in favour of the present. Longwool, in grease, ranged from 7Jd to 9sd per lb, and washed, from Hid to 14£ d. Prices for half -bred, in grease, ruled from 7Jd to 9sd per lb, and washed, from 12d to lid. 11 bales of cross-bred, washed, fetched 15d per lb. Another sale, which promises to be of greater magnitude than the present, will be held in a fortnight; 200 bales have already been received. AlESsitS li U.STKK A_ND XOLaJN's WOOL HJLLO. —87 baled and 29 bags were offered, and succeeded la finding purchasers at fair prices. The bidding was. pretty brisk, and the different lots met with lair competition. Lougwool, in grease, was disposed of,, prices extending from 6d to lOd per lb. There was some little fluctuation in the money obtained for washed, the lowest price being bjd, and the highest lid. It is but right to state, ho-vever, that there were several bales classed among the washed wool, which, should have been placed with the greasy. Half-bred, in grease* brought from 6d to 9J to per lb. There were only two lots of washed half-bred offered, one ot which, was sold at SJd per lb, aud the other at 13£d> Two lots ot skins were also sold, —one lot at 2s 6d each skin, and the other at Is 9d etch.
