By order of the EXECUTORS of the Will of the late JOHN CUTHBERT, Esq. VALUABLE WHARF PROPERTIES, DARLING HARIMUR, PORT JACKSON, CITY OF SYDNEY. NEW SOUTH WALES. RICHARDSON & WRENCH Have received instructions from the Executors of the Will of the late John Cuthbert, Esq., to sell by public auction, at the Rooms, Pitt-street, Sydney, on Monday, 7th February, IS7G, at 11 o'clock, 1.-mHE PATENT SLIP and WHARF, I- Sussex-street, and with the right of entrance from the foot of KINO-STREET, opposite the COMMERCIAL WHARF, together with the FOUR PRODUCE STORES in Sussex-street, CITY OF SYDNEY. That valuable property, THE PATENT SLIP, DARLING HaRUOUR, Sussex-street, together with steam-engine, cradle, and apparatus complete, in full trade and in first-rate or-er, capable of taking up vessels up to COO tons burthen. This property has a frontage of 67 to Sussexstreet, with considerable depth (about 300 feet) extending to the harbour, to which it has also a large frontage. The block contains an area of about 2 ROODS 11 PERCHES, for which is a CERTIFICATE i UNDER TORUENS' ACT, and in addition PER- ! MISSION 11.-\S BEEN OBTAINED stiJl further to extend into the harbour to the extent of nearly A QUARTER OF AN ACHE. On the Sussex-street frontage are four two-story recently-erected PRODUCE STORKS, with extensive ihed basemunt on a level with the wharf. These stores are at present let, without any connection, or interfering in any way, with the working of the slip r.ud wharf. Independent of \U value as a patent slip, the property occupies the most valuable position on the harbour for a COMMERCIAL WHARF, which would command an extensive business in connection with the coasting and intercolonial tr.ide. 2.-CUTHBERTS EXTENSIVE COMMERCIAL WHARF, SHIPBUILDING YAIID, SAWMILL, &c.. MILLKIVS POINT, DARLING HAKBUUR. This extensive property comprises about TWO ACRES AND A.HALF OF LAND, having UPWARDS OF 450 FEET FRONTAGE to DARLING HARBOUR, PORT JACKSON. It is oae of the largest establishments at this seaport for tfnpbuildiii,' and general shipwrights'work, having considerable capacity for expansion to meet the increasing requirements of the port. The business was for many years v«;ry successfully cirried oil by th°! lat* proprietor, Mr. Cuthbert, on the premises. With respect to AREA, extent of AVAILABLE HARBOUR FRONTAGE, and GENERAL FACILITIES, either for JIIPJiUILniNG or MERCANTILE PURPOSES, tie property is UNEPTJALLED IN THE AUSTRALIAN COLONIES. It includes a sawmill, with machinery, workshops, stores, sheds, sail lofts, &c.; also, a number of workmen's cottages. As the latter (the cottages) can bo sold separately, it will he optional with the buyer to include them in "the purchase. £ST Very little need he said in this notice of sale of tli - above valuable propeities, of the vast and increasing importance of the COLONY OF NEW SOUXiI WALK?, and of its METROPOLIS, the CITY of SYDNEY, with its spacious PORT, which bousts of an area of upwards of nine square miles, and which for SAFETY OF ACCESS, for CAPACI TY, for DEPTH OF WATER, for SHELTER, and for all SHIPPING CONVENIENCES, is UNSURPASSED BY ANY HARBOUR IN THE WORLD. With very trilling exceptions, the whole of the imports are discharged in, and nearly all the produce of the colony is exported from this haibour. From recent statistical returns, it wi/i bo found that the annual imports into the colony for one year (1872) amounted in value to £9,208,490, of which £3,728,457 was fr'm the United Kingdom, The exports for the same year amounted to £10,447)049. The number of vessels which entered the ports of the colony in the year was 2011, of a tonnage of 774,490. 2091, of a tonnage of &13,G00, left the various ports during the same year. A very largo proportion, indeed nearly all the tonnage referred to, arrived in or left Port Jackson, and it roust be remembered, that it alone in the colony affords any facility for refitting or repairs. The actual eligtblo wharf frontage of tho Port in the City of Sydney is limited, and cannot well be extended. The properties now offered for sale occupy, without exception, tho most valuable positions of this whurf frontage, whether for mercantile purposes, for steampacket companies, or for shipbuilding, including repairing and refitting. Loth will be absolutely disposed of on the above date, to enable the Executors of the Will of the late Mr. Cuthb >rt to carry out their trusts. Plans of the properties may bo inspected, and further particulars obtained, on application to RICHAItDSON fc WRE.NCH, Sydney. The TITLES are registered under the REAL PROPERTY ACT, commonly called TORRENS' ACT, and the CERTIFICATES can be inspected at the Olfices of Messrs. SLADE & SMITH, Solicitors, Sydney, Terms at Sale.
