SCHOOLS OF SISTERS OF MERCY.
ANNUAL EXAMINATIONS. The annual examinations of the pupils attending St. Joseph's and St. Aloysieus' Schools were held yesterday. The Very Kev. H. J. Fynes, V.G., presided. There were present Rev. M. D. O'Hara, Rev. Walter McDonald, Rev. J. Grange, Kev. J. O'Dwyer, and Rev. J. Simpson, also a large number of the friends of the pupils. The distribution of prizes followed the examinations, and the following are the prize lists:— ST. JOSEPH'S SCIIOOL. First Class. — Teresa O'Neill, Margaret Mulqueeney, Catherine Multedge. The distribution of prizes to the pupils of the school of St. Francis de Sales will not take place until Tuesday next, after the drama wliich will be performed by the pupils. "Yesterday, however, the scholars of this school went through the following programme with great credit to themselves and to the satisfaction of the audience :— Duet, piano, " Carricolo Galop" ; Scripture History, address, Miss Butler. Fourth class :*l)ialogue; song, "See our Oars." Third class : Reading, geography, English history, dialogue ; duet, " Deh Conte." Second class : Destruction of Pompei, geography, English history, spelling, mental athrithmetic, recitation ; song, " Hearts and Home." First class : Roman and English history, winds; heraldry, mythology, mental arithmetic; song, "Ye Shepherds, tell me" : German. First class: Song, " The harp that once through Tara's Hall" ; recitation, Misses Naughton and McMahon. " God Save the Queen."
