Resolved that the whole ten of the present directors vacate office immediately, and carried. That the following be elected as directors :—Messrs. W. B. Jackson, G. S. Graham, J. Howard, L. Ehrenfried, W. Sully. Resolved that the existing regulations be rescinded. Copy of rules as submitted by Mr. Tyler were read and adopted. Tho meeting confirmed all previous acts of the directors. The Tokatca had 75 lbs. specimens on hand yesterday. Nothing new reported to-niglit. About 100 tons general crushing stuff on hand. Bismarck reported got specimens to-day. Hamilton, Wednesday. Tho Engineer Volunteer Militia, under Captain Schotield, arc to bo disbanded on tho 30th instant. Nos. 1 and 2 companies were disbanded a short time since ; this is the remainder. The Agent-General, under date August 7. telegraphs the following shipment of emigrants during July Empire, 342, for Auckland; Adamant, 267, for the Bluff; Zealandia aud Auckland, 669, for Port Chalmers ; Himalaya, IS2, for Lyttelton ; Howrah, 303, for Wellington. F. A. Krull, German Consul, has been appointed Companion - Lie Order of the Crown —high Prussian order. Hokitika, Wednesday. Captain Johnson, of the Marino Depot, has selected the Cemetery Hill, at Hokitika, as a site for a new lighthouse. Site approved of by nautical authorities here. Port Chalmers, Wednesday. The s.s. Phcebe, having made the passage from to Port Chalmers in three days eighteen hours, including fifteen hours' detention, tho directors of the N.Z.S.S. Co. telegraphed to Captain Worsp expressive of their satisfaction, and presented him with a handsome pair of binocular glasses.
