Tenders. m E N D_ E R S. COLONY OF FIJI. t INTERINSULAR STEAM PACKET SERVICE. Tenders will be received at the ("-nice of the Colonial Secretary. Fiji, until the SOth October next, from steamship o»mts and other* desirous of establishing an 1 NTEt; INSULAR STEAM PACKET COMPANY in this colony. The proposition or tender to specify the amount of subsidy required by the contractors. The contract to be l»r Two Ocean-going Steamers of not less than seventy (70; and not more than one • hundred and fifty (1501 tons registered measurement, upon a tlrail of water when loaded of not mote than six ;«) feel. The contract to be for a term of Ave years fro.n the d.ite cf execution, subject to renewal at its expiration without further tenders being called fnr. provided the service has been performed to the satisfaction of the Government. Contractors will be required to enti-r into bonds for the due performance of their et gagement. Eastern Service (once a fortnight from Levuka or other port as rcav be hereafter decided) to Bin, Wainnnu, Savu Savu, Vuna, Wairiki, Mit*, Lauthala, Loma Loma, Goro, Mokogai or Wakaya. Western Service fonce a fortnight from Levuka or other port as may be hereafter determined; to Viti Levu Bay, Raki Kaki, Tavua, Ba, Nadi, Nadroga, Navua, Suva or Kcwj. And onco in every four wepks to Kadavu, or snch other place, not being the Seat of Governments at which the Trans-Pscinc mail steamers mayj rail. It is desired that the foregoing service may be so arranged as to admit of one of the two vessels generally being at the Seat of Government. It will abo require the contract to bo so expressed as to permit the Government, whenever it may so desire, to employ the unengaged steamer upon special service, at ndaily rate of remuneration, to be settled in the contract. lu consideration of the subsidy to be given by the Government, the contractors to carry lI.M. mails.
