THAMES ACCIDENT RELIEF FUND.
Tiiuovoh the courtesy of Ca]>tain Fraser, the Courthouse was available for the meeting on Monday evening, at which there wasa tail- attendance, —Captain l-'rasur in the chair, who stated that the old committee had thought it best to. call this meeting, in order that either some fresh plan for the resuscitation of the fund be adopted, or to close the aflair while they were in a position to do so honorably. There were no calls due on the books, and there was only Ll 10-i 7d on hnu<7. It was manifest that the present number of subscribers—luO, at tid per week—could not hope to meet with the contingencies they might expect. The fund had been of great benefit, but, from whatever cause, it had now become too low to continue with good results. If something practical did not emanate fronx the present meeting, the old committee would give up. The secretary stated that there had been donations to the amount o£ £120; that the subscribers had been at the outset 400. Hitherto they had afifected great benefits, but now they were out of
