RECEPTION COMMITTEE.
A MF.KTiNi; of the Reception Committee appointed to make arrangements for receiving and entertaining the rifle representatives was held last night at the Thistle Hotel. There was a good attendance,—Mr. G. M. Heid iu the chair. It was resolved that the representatives should be received with a procession on Tuesday evening on their arrival from the Thames, and that the ball should be held at the Choral Hall on Wednesday night. Sub-committees were appointed in charge of the catering and wines ; of the room and printing ; and ot music and the programme. A report was given in by the treasurer, Captain Burns, shewing the finances in a forward and satisfactory state. After some discussion it was resolved that the cost of the ticket to the ball should be tor double tickets, admitting lady and gentleman, 12s Cd; and for lady's ticket, ss. It was also resolved that a letter should be forwarded to Colonel Lyon, requesting him to convey au invitation to the rifle representatives. After arranging various details, the committee adjournal to Saturday evening at half-past seven.
