| Machinery. STEAM ENGINES AND PUMPS. IMPLF., STRONG, DURABLE, AKD ECONOMICAL. FRASER & TINNE Have purchased in England, and have sccured by LETTERS PATENT in NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA, the Right to Manufacture, Import, Sell, and Licence to I T se, in tiio ■wliolo of the AUSTRALIAN COLONIES, the very simple and efficient machine known as ROBERTSON'S PATENT VAXVELESS ENGINES AND PUMPS, and are prepared to supply them for all PURPOSES to which STEAM POAVER CAN BE APPLIED, of any size, power, or design. The peculiarity of this invention is that ALL COM- j PLICATED PARTS ARE DONE AV/AY -\VITH. | The ENGINE has NO SLIDE-VALVE, VALVEGEAR, NCR ECCENTRIC, and the PUMP has no VALVES. It is consequently almost IMPOSSIBLE for them to GET OLX OF ORDER, and by their use a great SAVING is eftccted in the matter of REPAIRS, They are made for ordinary POWER ENGINES, WATER-LIFTERS, BLOWERS for BLAST FURNACES, GAS-RXHAUSTERS, HOISTING ENGINES, DONKEY FEED-PUMPS for BOILERS, &c., &c., s.nd can be made to work exhaustively, or with high a.nd low-pressure cylinders, and condensing. When once CORRECTLY MADE they can be WORKED in ANY POSITION, UPSIDE DOWN, SIDEWAYS, or UPRIGHT, so that they can often be fixed in very much less room than an engine that j must be in ",he position that it was constructed for. ' TINNE'S PATENT "OXE PIECE" ENGINE Is a modification of the above, suited for pumping only, where no power is required to be transmitted to other machinery, its peculiarity being that it has, in Engine and Pump combined, ABSOLUTELY ONLY ONE WORKING PART. FRASER AND TINNE are now adding largely to I their premises and machinery, having seenred WATERSIDE ALLOTMENTS, securely protected from the weather, where STEAM VESSELS can •orne ALONGSIDE the workshops or repairs, can have their BOILERS LIFTED OUT OR IN, directly from the Boiler-shop, by POWERFUL SHEER LEGS and GEAR, or, when necessary, can be laid on the " GRIDIRON" for cleaning, examining the screw and shaft, &c. They are no.v erecting a powerful STEAM RIVETTIN'G MACHINE for MAKING BOILERS, GIRDERS. BRIDGE-WORK, &c., by the use of which a firmer joint It secured, and the iron lesi injured than by the constant hammering of handrivetting. FEASEK & TINNE, ENGINEERS, PHOENIX FOUNDRY.
